Kharkiv. May 24, 2002. INTERFAX-UKRAINE – In Sevastopol, the construction of Pivdenny, the first fire boat in Ukraine, has begun.

The press service of SigmaBleyzer, the international investment company (Kharkiv), informed the reporter of Interfax-Ukraine that the boat being built by Sevmorverf will serve the marine terminal of the Odesa – Brody Oil Pipeline.

Sevmorverf LLC received the order to build the Pivdenny fire boat after it won the tender carried out by the Druzhba Main Pipelines. The boat was designed by the Chernomorets Central Design Office.

Sevmorverf LLC is part of the Sevastopol Shipyard holding. A controlling stake in the Sevastopol Shipyard belongs to the UGF International Investment Fund, whose assets are managed by SigmaBleyzer Investment Company.
As it was already mentioned earlier, SigmaBleyzer assisted in the restructuring of the shipyard, the result of which was the creation of five so-called profit centers, one of which is commercial shipbuilding.

The press service of SigmaBleyzer expressed their satisfaction with the Sevastopol Shipyard’s sales dynamics. In 1999 it reached UAH 51 million, in 2000 – UAH 84.7 million, and in 2001 – UAH 104 million.

The UGF international investment fund owns a 50.2% stake in the shipyard; 26% belong to the state; 23.8% are owned by other shareholders.
