SigmaBleyzer became a monopoly on the Kyiv cable television market
Kievtelemontazh and InterVideoKiev, cable TV operators, have transferred the service of subscribers of their networks to Volia Cable, according to Konstantin Gritsak, a representative of SigmaBleyzer, which is the owner of the three companies.
According to Gritsak, the reassignment of functions between the companies is the result of internal restructuring; KTM and IVK will be responsible for maintenance and servicing of the cable networks. Volia Cable will collect payment from the subscribers for the use of cable television and will be responsible for marketing and financial policies.
Volia Cable also provides Internet access by TV cables of KTM and IVK, having developed a Volia Broadband System with the help of Volia ISP Internet Provider.
The new operator envisages offering 60 TV channels to Kyiv citizens and the first digital TV system in the CIS.
By various estimations, KTM and IVK cable TV operators together have served from 450,000 to 650,000 subscribers, covering 80% of the market. SigmaBleyzer invested $6 million in the development of the cable networks of these companies.
