Kyiv. June 21, 2002. INTERFAX-UKRAINE – Sevmorverf LLC, part of the Sevastopol Shipyard holding (both located in Sevastopol) is completing the construction of Pivdenny fire boat, the first fire boat in Ukraine, which will serve the Pivdenny Marine Terminal (Odesa) of the Odesa – Brody Oil Pipeline. 

Sevmorverf won a tender to build the fire boat. The amount of the contract is not disclosed. The boat was designed by the Chernomorets Central Design Office (Sevastopol).

Ukrtransnafta has already declared its plans to build in Sevastopol a second specialized ship, a boom placer (these vessels are used to clean the sea surface from oil pollution), also by a Ukrainian project. 

It is expected that these ships will ensure complete environment protection of the Pivdenny Marine Oil Terminal.

Sevmorverf LLC is part of the Sevastopol Shipyard holding. The statutory fund of the company amounts to UAH 772,479 million.

The UGF International Investment Fund owns a 50.2% stake in the shipyard (assets of the fund are managed by SigmaBleyzer); 26% belong to the state; 23.8% are owned by other shareholders. 

In 2001, sales of the Sevastopol Shipyard were UAH 104 million, 22.8% more than in the previous year.
