Poltava Confectionery increased output of caramel and other types of confectionery for Russian and Ukrainian markets.

Poltava Confectionery increased output of caramel and other types of confectionery for Russian and Ukrainian markets. The press service of SigmaBleyzer, an international investment company (Kharkiv), managing a 76.2% stake in Poltava Confectionery, informed the reporter of Ukrinform that in 2001 Poltava Confectionery increased production volumes by 2.7 tons (9,1%) or by total amount of UAH 117 million.
Production plan for first half of 2002 is fulfilled by 102%. During this period, the factory production output totaled UAH 54.593 million, sales – UAH 54.762 million. Customers are Ukraine – 72% and Russia – 28%.
With the help of controlling stake owner, international investment fund UGF, Poltava Confectionery finished constructing new shop for chocolate and biscuit production.
Poltava Confectionery produces 3% of the total amount of Ukrainian confectionery products.
According to expert estimates, the annual domestic market makes up 1 million tonn of confectionery, including 30% of import.
