Berdyansk, the Zaporizhya region, August 13, 2002 /Vladimir Fomenko – Ukrinform/

Creation of a profit-center has been started at the Pershotravnevy Agricultural Machinery Plant according to the restructuring plan, which was developed by the specialists of the plant and experts of SigmaBleyzer, an international investment company managing the controlling stake in the plant.
The profit-center is a company that will produce spare parts for agricultural machinery and several types of reapers for straight combining.

The Pershotravnevy Agricultural Machinery Plant, created to produce reapers for all the republics of the USSR, was in a difficult situation after the collapse of the Soviet Union. When the demand for reapers dropped, large production facilities became a burden. In 2001, in order to overcome difficulties, in the process of restructuring of the Pershotravnevy Agricultural Machinery Plant, the Berdyansk Reapers, a debt-free company for reaper production, was created. Part of spare parts for the new company is supplied by the Pershotravnevy Agricultural Machinery Plant. Today, managers of the plant started a new phase of restructuring.

According to the press service of SigmaBleyzer, production and sales of the plant have stabilized. Over six months of 2001, sales volume grew by 17% and production volume gained 9% compared to the plan. In the first half of 2002, the company income was UAH 6.706 million.

The consumption structure of the Pershotravnevy Agricultural Machinery Plant is as follows: 50% - Russia, 15% - Kazakhstan, and 35% - Ukraine.
