  • Jun 13, 2005. Kyiv Post. Since the mid 1990s, private equity investment firms have played a limited role in developing Ukraine’s economy. The status quo, however, is about to change with venture capital firms seeking fresh money to cash in on post-Orange Revolution opportunities. Though modest by Central European standards, investments by private equity funds have continued to grow over the past five years with total capitalization in 2006 expected to reach hundreds of millions of dollars. Several Kyiv-based funds have already built impressive portfolios and are looking to raise additional capital for new investment facilities.
