SigmaBleyzer fund to build mid-cap investment portfolio in Bulgaria
Georgy Biserinsky

Investment bank SigmaBleyzer has launched a 51 mln euro fund for investment in Bulgarian companies.
The capital of the SigmaBleyzer Southeast Fund, which will have a 10-year life-span, could reach 200 mln euro over the next couple of years.
SigmaBleyzer Southeast Fund will target majority and controlling stakes in mid-sized companies with annual profit in the range of 10-15 mln euro. The fund will invest in local market leaders with potential to figure on regional or international level with better management and access to more working capital.
The fund is interested in those sectors of the Bulgarian economy in position to thrive on the country's macroeconomic progress and future EU entry. The company will steer clear of the defence industry and is unlikely to make forays into the heavy, chemical and hospitality industries.(Dnevnik)
