Romania: EMRC-UNPR Partnership to Assist in Raising Foreign Investment
14:45 - 24 March 2006 - The European Market Research Centre - EMRC aims to assist the Romanian companies to attract foreign investments, EMRC President Pierre Mathijen stated on the occasion of a business forum organized by the National Union of Romanian Employers (UNPR), ACT Media news agency reports.
The debates were focused on the development of Romania's investment potential in the fields of construction, agriculture and tourism.
The forum was preceded by a session dedicated to the development of agricultural equipment necessary in Romanian agriculture modernization process meant to prepare it for the European integration.
EMRC representatives also underlined the necessity for the Romanian investors to attract European funds and offered the association's support for the construction of viable projects in this sense.
EMRC delegation came to Romania to study the financing possibilities its members can offer to this country's businessmen.
To this end, EMRC delegation met with the European Integration Minister Anca Boagiu and representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
EMRC officials plan to visit Calarasi (south-eastern part of Romania) County where their programme includes meeting local institutions representatives in view to identify key-fields for future investments.
EMRC delegation is made of Professor Pierre Mathijsen - EMRC President, Idit Miller - EMRC Director general, Arie Taitler - Director of EMRC business development and Edilberto Segura, Chief economist with SigmaBleyzer Investment Fund.
