On March 26, the commentary by Oleg Ustenko, Executive Director of The Bleyzer Foundation, entitled IMF Funds Needed Not Only to Revive Economy But Also to Enhance Ukraine’s Image as a Solvent Country aired in the Fakty news program on ICTV.
A new instrument for the assessment of business expectations was created in Ukraine under the auspices of Expert Ukraine business magazine, a monthly consensus evaluation of the economic situation. Companies and institutions engaged in producing macroeconomic forecasts for Ukraine were invited to participate in the project on a permanent basis. To discuss the results of the first consensus forecast, a round table was held on March 18, 2009. Olga Pogarskaya, an economist of The Bleyzer Foundation, participated as an expert.
On March 9, 2009, Expert business magazine published a commentary by Oleg Ustenko, Executive Director of The Bleyzer Foundation, entitled Default Talks in the European Union.
On March 2, 2009, the round table entitled Economic Situation in Ukraine: Tendencies and Forecasts was held at the Glavred publishing house. The meeting was dedicated to an expert analysis of anti-crisis steps by public authorities. Participants included: Oleg Ustenko, Executive Director of The Bleyzer Foundation, Andrey Blinov, Director of the Institute of Russian Studies, and Anrdey Yermolayev, Director of the Sofia Center of Social Studies. The experts’ commentaries stirred a great deal of interest in the mass media and were broadly cited.
