Joshua Ballard

Joshua Ballard is an Executive Director for SigmaBleyzer based in Houston, TX. He has held a number of positions at the firm since joining in 2003, and for many years was responsible for the finance, accounting/tax and investor relations of the company’s funds and vehicles both in the U.S. and internationally. Mr. Ballard has also been actively involved in investments over the years, adding significant value in leading due diligence projects overseas and in the U.S., financial modeling, valuation, and evaluating and benchmarking portfolio company performance.
Mr. Ballard started his career in finance in the oil and gas industry in the 1990s on a number of construction and engineering projects in Russia and Kazakhstan. From 1998-2001, he was the controller for the Kazakhstan portion of the $3 billion Caspian Pipeline Project. As such, he helped organize and manage the finance and accounting departments and was responsible for tracking costs, establishing budgets and forecasting cash flow. He also developed and implemented database systems that ran all contract management, finance, budgeting and cost, invoicing, labor and management reporting.
Mr. Ballard is a CFA charter holder, holds a BA in Russian Studies from the University of Iowa and an MBA in Finance from Thunderbird School of Global Management.
